Purchase

If you would like to purchase one of our tasty pasture-raised pigs, you can email us at pastureraisedpork@gmail.com.

We try to be very steady in our pricing, yet a variety of factors can affect the cost.

Currently, we are offering our finished hogs at a purchase price of $2.00/lb. per live weight.  Our hogs usually finish out around 220-250 pounds, so if you purchase an entire hog, you would be looking at a purchase price of $440.00-$500.00 depending upon the weight of the specific animal.

The last cost for the consumer is the butchering fee.

We deliver all of our pigs to one of two processing facilities:

Magro's Processing in Springfield, Illinois
The cost is roughly $300 to have your pig butchered and packaged for pick-up for your freezer.  You get to select your options for how you want the meat cut, and this can slightly alter the price.  Magro's is located off Stevenson Drive on the east side of Springfield.

Jones Meat and Locker in Jacksonville, Illinois
The cost is roughly $200 to have your pig butchered and packaged for pick-up for your freezer.  You get to select your options for how you want the meat cut.

NOTE:  A typical 220-pound hog will provide about 180 pounds of meat for your freezer.  As an example, with the current cost of $2.00/lb. per live weight, you would spend $440.00 + $300 in processing.  Your total cost would be $740.00 for 180 pounds of delicious pasture-raised pork or $4.11/lb.

If you are curious as to how your pig gets to your table, Magro's also allows you to watch the butchering process.  This is a FASCINATING way to see where your bacon and ham and sausage comes from!  Of course, some folks just choose not to know.  :)
