Breeds

We have chosen a variety of breeds for our pasture-raised pigs.  Currently we raise full-blooded Durocs (known for their forward floppy ears), Hampshires (known for their white stripes, feet, or faces), and black pigs.

Each one is different in their own way, even between breeds!  And, yes, we have been known to name them!
A Duroc and Hampshires rooting for morsels.  The closest two are Midnight and Hamp.

Pigs are the best in their own element! Let the pigs be pigs!!! That sums up our philosophy here at Nature's Intent farms.  We believe that every pig was created to be a pig, and that means having days of sunshine, running around, sleeping, eating, and just doing pig things! Unfortunately, confinement hogs cannot experience what our pigs get to experience. We sometimes joke, "We have happy pigs!"  But we really do believe that.  Our pigs have a life of easy living.  They get to sleep in, eat when they want, root for worms and grubs, and get to run up for all sorts of love and petting. We keep it simple here.  We really believe that a natural pig is the best-tasting.  It's a win-win-win for the happy pig, the happy farmer, and the happy consumer!
